This ring is a bentwood ring made from zebrano. Set onto the ring is a section from an ring the client had brought a long time ago in Egypt. It was gold with a scarab beetle on, a famous Egyptian symbol. The Egyptian scarab beetle symbolized rebirth, regeneration, creation, and protection, linked to the sun god Khepri who rolled the sun across the sky, mirroring the beetle rolling dung balls. Used as amulets, seals, and funerary items, they represented the eternal cycle of life, ensuring safe passage to the afterlife, growth, and transformation, with specific "heart scarabs" containing spells to aid judgment.
The ring itself was battered and not wearable. I was able to cut the scarrab section out and mount it onto this bentwood ring. Now it is wearable again. The ring tapers and is thinner on the underside so it is more comfortable.
This was a special ring to work on and held a lot of sentimental value to the client. It is not for sale but is an example of what can be done.
All the rings I make are hand made and hand finished. It is totally unique, just like you.
