300 year old oak whale tail.

This whale tail is handcut, carved and finished from a piece of oak that I salvaged from a building renovation. The oak is originally from a building which was completed in 1793. It is a real privilege to give something this old a new lease of life. It is 50mm high, 52mm wide and about 15mm deep. When I am carving these I love to see how much motion I can show in the tail, this one has lots of it. The curves mean it is very comfortable to wear even though it is quite big. This comes on a 2mm thick black waxed cotton necklace with a stainless steel lobster claw clasp. Let me know how long you want it to be.

I do not mass produce anything. Most of the items I make are one-offs or very limited. This is the only one like this. It is unique, just like you.
